I'm in Wisconsin visiting my mom and I decided to paint something for her. She requested a horse. My mother lives in the northwood boonies, and there are no large canvases to paint on so I went out to the shed and picked out a long foot wide board. I cut it into 3 pieces and put it together for my painting surface. For the background, i used a mixture of linseed oil, paint thinner and tar. I love the spots where the wood still shows through. I like this picture and my mom does too! Please let me know what you think!
